England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a national radio breakfast show.

The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on the 18th of December.

The event will be aired from 7 PM GMT.

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Afterwards, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being nominated for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm deeply humbled to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
