A campaign is aiming to propel a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The campaign seeks to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The song was recorded following a major charity concert held in late summer. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the piece was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.

The notable list of musicians contributing to Lullaby includes a group of prominent voices from the scene. All were part of the September show, which reportedly raised a considerable total for humanitarian aid.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a team of talented individuals. The song showcases a combination of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the campaign have stated that their goal is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These proceeds will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an established charity.

“There is no a fixed goal,” a figure commented. “We will pursue as much as possible. Obviously, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the area was noted for its profound destruction, with a vast majority of buildings reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a few million is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The song is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
