The Porcine Pardon: Hog Named Six Seven Pardoned by Miami Dade County Mayor.

While perhaps not at the identical stature as sparing festive fowl, but the Miami-Dade County mayor conducted a Donald Trump moment this week by ritually sparing the life of a swine named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava performed the seasonal stunt at the Cuban-style Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s iconic Little Havana neighborhood.

“This pig is innocent. She is worthy of this pardon. Her criminal record is spotless,” declared Levine Cava in a speech with obvious nods to the sheer volume of pardons issued from the start of the commencement of a current administration.

“Except perhaps for eating six or seven apples per day,” she went on. “May this pig enjoy a prosperous future away from worry.”

The gathering, either celebrating or rejecting the area's customary feast of eating roast pork during the holidays, was founded to replicate the traditional fowl clemency at the White House.

The pig, contributed by a local firefighter, was named for the modern linguistic fad of young people exclaiming “six-seven” – deriving from a hip-hop line – often seemingly at random. The phrase became so pervasive that a leading lexicon site recently made “6-7” its annual vocabulary selection.

A Peaceful Retirement

The pardoned swine is now scheduled to spend its days at a farm sanctuary “far from charcoal and roasting pans”, according to the ceremony's official statement.

“The annual pig pardon has become one of our favorite ways to kick off the festive period,” said the event host, in a notably cheerful message.

“It represents the essence of Miami: vibrant, varied, and grounded in customs that bring people together. Annually, we are proud to celebrate culture and compassion in a way only Miami can.”

Guests enjoyed a plant-based fare of croquettes and cafecito as they marked the pig's pardon.
