The renowned publisher has welcomed Ben Brinkman from the creators of Apex Legends to direct the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently developing the upcoming over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as this innovative game.

The new appointee steps into the role of studio head at the development studio following the departure of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to the game's lackluster early showing last fall.

Recently, 2K president David Ismailer notified team members about this organizational change through an internal memo, which highlighted that playtesting had shown the need for a distinct game identity.

The community feedback from last autumn’s Project ETHOS demo was informative. It confirmed the appeal of a action-packed game but made clear we still had improvements to make. It uncovered the need for a clearer brand.

It’s been inspiring to see how far you’ve progressed. You embraced the criticism to consideration and reimagined Project ETHOS with a revitalized direction - one that’s positioned to fulfill its potential to our players.

Our confidence in Project ETHOS increases every day. To advance the outstanding progress you’ve made, It is a pleasure to introduce the new hire as the new Studio Head of the team. Following a period of conversations, he officially joins us on the specified date.

Ben’s leadership and background in the PVP shooter space is considerable, having devoted the recent years producing and managing some of the most popular franchises in the industry, such as the acclaimed shooter, and most recently, Apex Legends.

The appointee currently holds the position of senior developer and head of production at Respawn Entertainment for Apex Legends. He previously was employed at Treyarch and Activision in various production roles on the Call of Duty series, and, before that, had stints at other industry leaders.
