President Trump Invites Loved Ones of Attacked Military Members to the Presidential Residence

President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the White House.

He added that he spoke to her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Shooting

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Vigils across the state have been held in their memory.

Presidential Offer

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president told the press. “And likewise with him, no matter the outcome.”

Public Response

Community members gathered over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both they had been working with the military unit as part of the president’s government program to support policing efforts in Washington DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“She was the kind of student that educators desired. She carried herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,” the principal, the leader of her alma mater, told the Associated Press. “She was sweet, considerate and always eager to support those in need.”

Service arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Legal Actions and Government Adjustments

Officials have accused a 29-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The event led the administration to halt asylum applications and temporarily stop granting entry permits to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of the Airman

Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, started his military career in early 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, as reported by the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor the governor stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed the program that she aimed to meet with the family.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from her high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with honor, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had courage,” he addressed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
