It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and once went over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the record chasers, are all that remain for a squad that has achieved everything.

The fact it required until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given a chance to produce her newest gem.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the case for final game tension. Others can counter with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this knock followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared I've had no rhythm whatsoever," said Healy.

"But once you take the field, your competitive nature kick in and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her great strength - and a priceless quality in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single came off the opening delivery and from there the batsman was on her way.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was out the team required another 66 at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the belief to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if we do, we know we can achieve it."

These statements will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this championship want to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this triumph coming after victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those fitness problems have delayed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as captain.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
